How to convert PSone games to PSP Eboot

Note: I'm given greenlight by hellow to post this here. However I will not post any link to the application i mentioned in this FAQ as i'm not too sure about the legality of it. Thanks for your understanding.
This FAQ uses the following software, google for it:

ISOBuster

PSX2PSP 1.2
# Before we can begin you must install IsoBuster and PSX2PSP.
# The first time you launch IsoBuster it will prompt you to register. I recommend using the "Free funct. only" since it provides the reliable ISO ripping you need (however because it is a very good utility if you decide to purchase and register a copy more power to you).
# The first time you launch PSX2PSP it will prompt you to select a mode. I recommend using Theme Mode as it allows you to preview the results of your custom EBOOT menu.
# To begin converting PSone games to PSP you must first extract the ISO to your PC.
# Insert the CD of your PSX game into your PC. In IsoBuster you will see the the session(s), track(s) and file-systems of your disc.
# Right-click the CD listing at the top of the tree on the left and choose Extract CD < Image > RAW (*.bin, *.iso). It will ask where to save the BIN and after the extraction where to save the CUE.
# For the BIN file to work with PSX2PSP you must add .iso to the end of the generic BIN file that IsoBuster created.

In Theme Mode of PSX2PSP open the Convert Menu. Under ISO/PBP File navigate to where you saved your ISO.
# PSX2PSP should automatically fill in the Game and Save titles and IDs.

(NOTE: If you are converting a multi-disc game make sure you use the same Save ID on each discs EBOOT.)
# Under Output PBP folder navigate to where you want your EBOOT.PBP to be saved after conversion.
# From here if you do not wish to customize the EBOOT.PBP menu you can click the Convert button and your playable EBOOT will be created.
# If you do wish to customize your menu open the Customize PBP Menu.
# Here you can choose which graphics are used for the icon and menu, more specific information will be added for this later.
# After you have chosen the graphics you wish to use for your converted PSone game close the Customize PBP Menu and hit the Convert button on the Convert Menu.
#Now copy your completed game folder to your PSP memory stick under X:\PSP\Game\
You are now able to play your favorite PSone game on your PSP!
NOTES:

Not every game plays with 100% accuracy, tweaks and PopStation improvements are always forthcoming.

How to Distinguish Between Genuine & Fake Memory Stick Duo Pro

After seeing thread after thread on this subject, I thought I'd cobble together a quick guide for people to determine whether they have a genuine or a fake Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo. Most of this information is available on other websites but has been condensed for easy digest.
If you've recently bought a Sony High Speed 1GB or 2GB from eBay, the chances are it will be a fake. Stores in Hong Kong, China and Singapore are flooded with these things at the moment and it's actually a much harder task to find the genuine item! Notice how cheap they are, they sell as low as $80 for even a 4GB ones.
Either way if you buy from eBay - you have been warned!
It's also worth bearing in mind that even if you do have a fake Memory Stick, and it's still working after a few months then you should be okay. It may not be the real deal, but hell at least it still works! Which is more than can be said for some unlucky people out there..
Capacity
If you have bought a Sony 2GB High Speed Memory Stick Pro Duo, when you first format the card the available capacity should be 1,910 MB. Fake models have varying sizes, usually 1,948 MB or 1,949 MB. Some fake cards also use a trick to display the full capacity available but in fact can only store 1GB or thereabouts.
Packaging
A genuine Sony product has superior quality packaging and should be properly heat-sealed around the edges. This is a tell tale sign. Also the quality of the ink on the card inside will show up a fake. Look at the black bit on the back, good quality printing from Sony will not have 'white dots'. Note: Even fake cards still carry the Sony hologram.
Examples :-
This is a genuine Sony card. Noticed how it is properly heat sealed around the edges.
A fake 512 MB card. Notice how the packaging is sealed with six crappy blobs of glue.
Build quality, size and shape.
A fake Memory Stick may look the real deal at first sight, but if you compare it with a genuine item you can see the differences. The writing on a genuine card should be engraved into the plastic, not 'stuck' on. A fake stick may also be thicker in width that the real deal.
Examples :-
Can you tell the difference from these two 512 MB cards?

Playstation Portable - The Ultimate FAQ

I had recieved pm asking how to convert videos to be able to work on a PSP. Thus the reason for this guide. For this guide, i will be using PSP Video 9 which is one of the most user/newbie friendly software around. Somemore it's FREE.

Getting Started

First off, if you want to playback the videos you converted on your PC you'll need QuickTime. While this is not a requirement, it is a good idea. You can download the latest version of QuickTime from Apple Website
After installing quicktime, make sure you give your PC a reboot before continuing. After that you can download the PSP Video 9 from this link
In order to get the videos onto your PSP you either need to connect your PSP to you PC via USB cable or insert your Memory Stick into a memory stick reader.
Before you use PSP Video 9, make sure your Memory Stick is properly formatted.
The first time you run PSP Video 9 you will see this screen. Just follow the on screen instructions, PSP Video 9 will attempt to automatically setup your PSP for video.
Converting Video
Now we are ready to convert your first video file. Click "Convert" on the menu to go to the Convert section. Next, click the "One-Click Transcode" button and select the file you want to convert. If there are no files in your queue, conversion will begin immediately, otherwise the video will be stored in your queue.
Once the conversion is complete, click on the Copy button to go to the Copy page. On the left hand side of the copy page, you can see all the PSP video files on your PC. Select the video you just converted and click the "Copy Video to PSP" button. Now, provided you had enough free space for the file, the file should appear on the right hand side of the page meaning the file is now on your PSP.

First Time Buying Guide

Okay, there are definately a few things you want to get when you pickup your PSP. First of all, read the reviews and information posted at this forum and that should make your decision easier.
At the start, be sharp and look for any tampering to the console or the box when the shopkeeper first hand the console to you. Reject the good immediately if any of such instance is found as i heard that shops at Sim Lim Square especially had such gimmicks such that they took out the battery or what and charge consumers seperately for the accessories. Feel free to complain to CASE if you felt that you are a victim of this fraud.
After that, request for a umd to check the umd drive whether is it in working condition and also check for the speakers whether is it working or not. If you want, bring a extra memory stick and put in a totally black jpeg picture to check for dead pixel.
If your going to put movies, music, or photos on your memory stick I advise you go with a bigger size memory stick, as they are becoming cheaper and cheaper every day. You can get a 2GB for about $50 these days so I recommend that. Once you get your PSP you're going to want to utilize all of it's features and thus, your going to want a bigger memory stick so go with something 4GB and up.
As for the case you have many options there. You want to get something sturdy that you can rely on, yet something that has access to most of the important buttons without opening. I would recommend the Playgear Pocket, by logitech, as this is the case a lot of people have (me included) and has proven to be reliable.
Another thing you might want to invest in is a screen protector. This is basically a piece of plastic like material that will go over your screen protecting it from most scratches. Two well known brands would be Hori and Martin Fields, I suggest investing in one of those screen protectors, as they are supposed to reduce glare, and help out with scratches.
Make sure to buy a microfiber cloth which is designed to wipe LCD or other screens that are very sensitive. Invest in one of those and that will help keep your PSP clean and scratch free. Also be aware that wiping the screen with your shirt, paper towels, or other objects will cause scratches and that should be avoided. If you have friends wearing spectacle, you may want to try asking from them see whether they want to give the "spectacle cloth" to you or not

And I'm going to leave you with some advice on keeping your PSP neat and scratch free. If you get the case and screen protectors and the cloth you should be set to go. Just remember to be careful with it, and usually wipe it down after you use it and keep it in good condition as it is a $400 dollar investment.

------------------------------------

4. PlayStation Portable Slim & Lite

------------------------------------

At E3 2007, Sony released information about a new version of the PlayStation Portable, currently packaged in the PAL territories as PSP Slim & Lite. The new PSP is 33% lighter (reduced to 189 grams from 280 grams) and 19% slimmer than the original PSP system. The model numbers have changed to PSP-2000, following the previous region-based numbering scheme (cf. the PSP-1000 numbering scheme of the "old" PSP model).

Features and Changes
The PSP Slim & Light offers a 33% lighter and 5mm (19%) thinner system. Internal changes to achieve this include the removal of a metal chassis (used to reduce damage), improved WLAN modules and Micro-controller, and a thinner and much lighter LCD display.
Although dubbed "PSP Slim and Lite", the PSP-2000 range offers a lot of other tweaks and improvements from the older generation. To target the original PSP generation's poor load times when in UMD games, a "temporary memory" was implemented in order to speed up load times.

Further to this, the internal memory (RAM and FlashROM) was doubled to 64MB to improve load times and accommodate for an improvement in the web browser's performance.

PSP Slim MagicGate Memory Stick Slot

PSP Slim MagicGate Memory Stick Slot
To make the PSP slimmer, the capacity of the battery was reduced by about 1/3. Due to more efficient power usage, the runtime of the PSP is still the same as the older model. Older model batteries will still work with the PSP Slim & Light which extends the amount of playing time on the PSP Slim & Light. However, the battery cover on the newer model does not fit over the older battery due to its bulkier size.
Amongst these, other minor changes were made. The PSP Slim & Light has a new enamel coated finish to prevent scratches and smudges. The serial port was also modified in order to accommodate a new video-out feature (while rendering older PSP remote controls incompatible). USB charging was made possible (using a USB cable to plug the PSP into a USB port to allow charging). The D-Pad was also modified in response to poor performance - being raised, while buttons offer improved responsiveness, confirmed in the GameSpot "hands-on" review: "several GameSpot editors have noticed that the d-pad and buttons on the new PSP provide a little more tactile feedback for a better overall feel."
A new UMD loading tray design was introduced to be more efficient in terms of size, while the Wi-Fi switch was moved to the top of the console and the Memory Stick slot moved to the upper left. The speakers were repositioned on the front of the PSP near the top of the screen. The rather obsoleted infra-red port was also removed - which offered no use to the original PSP generation other than in homebrew applications. The analog stick was also redesigned to be more flexible.
A "1Seg" tuner (model PSP-S310) peripheral, designed specifically for the PSP Slim & Lite model, was released in Japan on September 20, 2007.

TV Output

Sony has added a TV output for the PSP Slim available through Firmware 3.60. The PSP can output standard resolution (4:3), and widescreen (16:9). It also offers a screensaver if the PSP is inactive for a set amount of time. It is able to output games, videos, and other media. To achieve TV output on the Slim model, Composite, S-Video, Component and D-Terminal cables are sold separately by Sony. Games are output as a progressive scan signal, which can only be carried by the component video and D-Terminal cables, and can only be displayed on a television which supports progressive scan. The maximum resolution through TV output is 640x480 pixels, and composite video uses NTSC colour encoding (no PAL composite signal is available).

System Changes
In comparison to the Slim and Lite, the PSP-3000 has an improved LCD screen with an increased colour range, five times the contrast ratio, half the pixel response time to reduce ghosting and blurring effects, and anti-reflective technology to improve outdoor playability. The screen draws more current than the screen for the PSP-2000, initially causing a reduction in the console's battery life by "about 20 minutes" according to SCEA director of hardware marketing John Koller. However, he released a statement retracting this comment, saying that, "the screen of the new PSP draws a little more power" but he claims that, "our engineers in Japan worked to reduce the power consumption of the overall system including its components." It has an integrated microphone, the goal of which is to establish the PSP as "a viable communication device" according to Sony Europe boss David Reeves. PSP games will now be playable on interlaced (non-progressive scan) televisions via composite video cables. The start and select buttons have changed from semi-circles to ovals, with the home button being replaced by a "PS Button" similar to the PS3's DualShock 3. Sony also announced a firmware update.

Problems?
Screen:
It has emerged that the new screen shows visible dark lines, similar to traditional scan lines, and displays interlacing-like artifacts during on-screen motion.
It has been shown that the new screen possesses a new horizontal subpixel structure, which is thought to create the scanline-like appearance, but the origin of the interlace-style artifacts is currently unknown.
